Important Information

What is a Developer Account?

MapData Services (MDS) allows you (Developer) to access a Developer Account enabling you to create commercial products using the QuickMap® Developer Toolkit without incurring transaction charges during the development phase of your product under the following conditions;

  1. Access the QuickMap® Developer Toolkit to develop a product
  2. Up to 2,000 total transactions within a 24 hour period. Should you exceed the allowed transactions then MDS may;
    1. Charge you for the excess transactions, or
    2. Immediately halt all access by the developer

You may not;

  1. Use your Developer Account for a commercial pilot or test program
  2. Use your Developer Account once the application has been completed and you are ready to install it in a commercial environment/site or use it for commercial purposes.  If MDS suspects you are using your Developer Account for commercial purposes we will attempt to contact you.  If we are unable to, we may temporarily halt your access

We at MDS wish to support developers - that is after all the whole purpose of allowing you access. We ask that you contact us to discuss any questions or concerns that you have or areas where you may feel that you need more access than what MDS would normally consider reasonable use.

What happens when everything stops working?

At any time, when attempts to contact the developer have failed, MDS may halt access to the QuickMap® Developer Toolkit in an attempt to prompt the developer to call MDS to discuss the situation. Knowing that the licence is for a development environment only we know it won't be upsetting your customers. Please feel free to contact MDS, we certainly wish to help you and may only be prompting you to call as we may see an opportunity to assist.

What is the cost?

Please read the FAQ on costs that will come into effect once the application has been developed or after the initial 8 week trial period
